New Year's Eve has Lizzo looking back at the past 10 years and noting just how much can change in that period of time.
She posted a side-by-side photo on social media comparing herself in 2009, when she was dealing with her father's death and homelessness, to the Lizzo of 2019, when she topped lists as entertainer of the year.
"2009 was the year my daddy died," she wrote on Twitter Tuesday evening (Dec. 31). "2009 was the year I lived in my car & cried myself to sleep on thanksgiving."
Lizzo followed that up with an update highlighting some of her accomplishments she's achieved since then: "2019 is the year my album & song went #1. 2019 is the year I told my mama I can buy her a house."
"Anything can happen in a decade," she advised. "Tomorrow is the beginning of ur Anything."
