Los Cangris Return: What’s Your Fave Daddy Yankee & Nicky Jam Collab? Vote!

Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam, sometimes known as Puerto Rican duo “Los Cangris,” blessed the reggaeton world on Wednesday (Jan. 8) by releasing their first collaboration in 20 years, dubbed “Muevelo.”

The song, which features an interpolation of a fragment of “Here Comes the Hotstepper” by Ini Kamoze, takes it back to the old-school ‘90s reggaeton melodies that distinguish Yankee and Jam’s collaborative sound.

During the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, Yankee and Jam formed the duo "Los Cangris" and released many hits such as “Guayando," "Sentirte" and "Entre Sabanas Blancas,” to name a few.  Both artists eventually went their separate ways. Fast forward to 2020, and Los Cangris’ highly-awaited reunion was possible thanks to Texas-based producers Play-N-Skillz, who got them together.

“Yankee is my battle brother, the past does not define who we are today,” Jam expressed in an official statement. “We wanted to come back, and we wanted to do it big,” Yankee added.

Los Cangris are set to perform in Medellin, Colombia on March 28.
