Of all the homes hosting DIY performances for ACM Awards: Our Country, Luke Combs‘ might be the most fun to quarantine in.
For Sunday night’s (April 5) show, Combs did an acoustic rendition of his hit “Beautiful Crazy” under the neon purple lights of his personalized game room, which featured numerous vintage arcade classics (NFL Blitz was visible over his shoulder) and a wall covered with his own memorabilia. Combs has clearly been keeping his spirits high, and that charisma flowed into “Beautiful Crazy,” the playful country-rock single he wrote for his fiancé, Nicole Hocking. Bars may be closed, but Combs did his best to channel the vibe of a downtown Nashville watering hole with his sing-along-friendly showmanship.
ACM Awards: Our Country took the place of the 55th annual ACM Awards, which was unable to take place Sunday night due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, CBS devoted two hours to home performances from country stars like Combs, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum and many others.
