In the time of a global pandemic, Lyanno, Piso 21 and Jerry Di bring the feel-good “Luna Llena,” premiering exclusively on Billboard below.
“This single will bring joy to everyone who’s in their home in quarantine,” the Puerto Rican artist tells Billboard.
The collaboration, which follows Lyanno’s “En Tu Cuerpo,” was born in Medellin, Colombia, after coming across Jerry Di at a song camp and meeting Piso 21’s member Lorduy for the first time.
“It’s a refreshing song because each artist added their tropical flow,” Lyanno says of the fusions between Puerto Rican, Colombian and Venezuelan talents. “The song is about escaping to the beach at night. People are going to enjoy this song a lot,” he assures.
“Luna Llena,” which translates to full moon, is a reggaeton track that fuses dancehall rhythms and guitar melodies. Filmed in Medellin’s Barrio Buenos Aires and with scenes of Puerto Rico’s La Perla and beaches, the music video features lots of color, dancing and happiness. “I like the vibe that Colombian people transmit,” Lyanno says, calling them humble and sweet.
As for how he’s handling the current health crisis? Lyanno says he’s keeping healthy and safe in Puerto Rico and working on his upcoming album. “It’s set to come out in August or September but I will be releasing an EP with eight songs within the next few weeks,” he notes. “It wasn’t in the plans but my fans are asking for new music while everything calms down.”
