Madonna Reveals Positive Test for COVID-19 Antibodies

Madonna has been keeping fans updated on her pandemic lockdown with her low-fi “quarantine diaries” and the 14th edition featured a bombshell. In an Instagram post shared on Thursday (April 30), Madonna revealed that she took a test recently and “found out that I have the antibodies,” referring to a blood test that determines whether a person has been infected with the novel coronavirus and developed an immune response to the virus.

Now that she has that information, Madonna had very specific plans. “So tomorrow, I’m just going for a long drive in a car, and I’m going to roll down the window and I’m going to breathe in. I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air,” she says in the black and white video, which finds her typing out her thoughts on a typewriter as she muses about her thoughts on the global lockdown.

“I am so confused in my own confusion, so bewildered in my incapacity to express my disappointment, so unwilling to fight with people I have been in quarantine with, because I know the futility of it, and yet I want to taste the satisfaction of being known, of being understood,” the video begins. “It amazes me that we care so much about what people think or winning people’s favor or being right in an argument. I hate myself for this pettiness.”

Last month, Madonna’s Ray of Light Foundation and REFORM Alliance announced plans to donate 100,000 surgical masks to prisoners.
