Nashville based singer-songwriter and mandolinist Marie Miller will release her sophomore album Little Dreams on March 27, and Billboard premieres the video for the title track today (Jan. 24).
Her first independent release since her 2017 debut Letterbox and since leaving Curb Records, the album showcases Miller’s doubts and fears of going off on her own.
“Little Dreams” highlights Miller’s uncertainty of the future with a hopeful message alongside delicate acoustic guitar and a steady drumbeat. “Afraid, no I’m not afraid/ Even though I’m tired, even though I’m lost,” she sings on the song’s opening verse.
"'Little Dreams’ is a song about trusting in your abilities and believing in what you can accomplish even when you feel small and insignificant,” Miller tells Billboard. “I knew I wanted to name the album Little Dreams almost as soon as I finished writing the now title track, because I believe each one of us has a unique quest, something only we can do to make the world more beautiful, more humane, more fraternal.
“If it feels like we’re too small, it’s a mistake. The video for me is a dream come true! Director Joel Robertson created the perfect world of dreamy colors and textures. It begins with a quiet feeling of hope which grows throughout the video to perfectly capture the emotion of 'Little Dreams.’”
