Mary J. Blige Announces ‘Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit’

Mary J. Blige is bringing women together with her “Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit.”

Presented by Pepsi in partnership with Live Nation Urban, the inaugural three-day festival will take place in Atlanta over Mother’s Day weekend from May 6-8 with an all-star lineup of female comics and artists.

The festivities kick off Friday with performances from Kiana Ledè, Emotional Oranges, Rubi Rose, Inayah, and MK XYZ.

Saturday’s lineup at State Farm Arena includes Chaka Khan, City Girls, Ella Mai, Xscape, Queen Naija, and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself, who will be joined by some special guests.

It caps off with a Mother’s Day brunch at City Winery, with performances from Kierra Sheard and Le’Andria Johnson.

“The idea for the festival came to us after early listening sessions of my latest album with my family and friends and women in the industry,” said Blige. “Each time, the people in the room would share a story, oftentimes of heartbreak or pain, but they always ended with joy and love and how their girlfriends or mom or sister helped them find their voice and strength. We felt like after two years of being inside and having to endure so much, that this was the type of experience that people, especially women, deserved.”

The festival comes on the heels of Mary’s performance with Dr. Dre at the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. Last month, she also released her 15th studio album Good Morning Gorgeous.

Tickets go on sale March 10 at 10 a.m. ET, with a pre-sale starting March 8 at 10 a.m. ET.
