"Mean" Gene Okerlund's Death Caused By Bad Fall In December, According To Son

Yesterday we  on the unlucky passing of legendary wrestling interviewer Gene Okerlund. He was 76 on the time of his passing and when the information broke, the WWE group paid their respects on-line.

Today, TMZ reported that Okerlund’s son Todd confirmed that Okerlund had suffered a nasty fall again in December which triggered a sequence of problems that ultimately result in his passing. Okerlund’s son stated Gene had suffered a number of damaged ribs when he fell at his house in Florida.

According to TMZ, Okerlund had been dropped at a nursing house simply 4 days in the past. When he began to have bother respiration, he was dropped at a hospital on Wednesday and ultimately handed away.

“It was not possible to not crack a smile each time ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund entered a room. He was the voice behind so a lot of WWE’s most iconic and entertaining moments, and the WWE household will miss him immensely,” Vince McMahon stated in an announcement.

Wrestler Triple H additionally took to Twitter saying “A voice and soundtrack to a complete period of our business. He was the star of a few of @WWE’s most memorable segments. “Mean Gene” was beloved by all who started working with him. Our ideas are along with his household at this tough time.”
