Meek Mill took to social media to pay tribute to Houdini after the rapper was fatally shot in his hometown of Toronto.
is mourning the loss of up-and-coming rapper, Houdini, in his hometown of Toronto. On Tuesday (May 26th), the 21-year-old, born Dimarjio Antonio Jenkins, was gunned down in the Entertainment District of Downtown Toronto, and unfortunately did not make it.
After news of his tragic death broke, tons of fans and fellow hip hop figures took to social media with messages of mourning, including Meek Mill was also among those who paid tribute to the late rapper, posting a photo of Houdini on Instagram with a brief message to honour his memory. “I Rocked WIT YOUNGBULL VIBE AS A PERSON RIP!” Meek wrote. “PRAYERS TO HIS SIDE!”
According to Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders, Houdini was targeted by the perpetrator in the shooting. The unidentified suspect was reported to have “deliberately” waited in his vehicle for 40 minutes until Houdini showed up, at which point he exited the vehicle, fired a gun, and left the scene. A 15-year-old boy and 27-year-old woman were also injured in the shooting, although they are expected to make full recoveries.
