Meek Mill’s ‘Free Meek’ Docuseries, Executive Produced By Jay-Z, Is Coming to Amazon

In the midst of Sunday night's 2019 BET Awards (June 23), Amazon rolled out the first trailer to the upcoming Free Meek docuseries. The evocative five-part series will take a deeper look at the case that's handicapped aspects of Meek Mill's life for more than a decade and even landed him in prison from 2017-2018.

The clip features exclusive footage of Meek's release from jail in April, as well as how the unifying "Free Meek" movement subsequently became a rallying cry and wake-up call for people of varying backgrounds.

Following his release, the Philly native decided to use his platform to speak up about the injustices against him and millions of other Americans with attempts to reform the criminal justice system through initiatives such as the REFORM Alliance.

Jay-Z is directly involved with the docuseries in the role of executive producer with backing from Roc Nation. Free Meek debuts exclusively through Amazon's video service on Aug. 9.
