Megan Thee Stallion Goes Full 'Mad Max' with 'Savage' & 'Girls in the Hood' at the 2020 BET Awards

When Megan Thee Stallion was tasked with putting together a special performance for Sunday’s (June 28) 2020 BET Awards, she made sure sure that every second of it was special, indeed.

The clip began with Stallion’s dancers driving in a dusty desert on bedazzled ATVs, revving their way over to meet the Head Hottie herself, who was seated atop a souped-up dune buggy, ready to perform. The star launched into her recent revamp of Eazy-E’s “Boyz-N-The-Hood,” which she naturally titled “Girls in the Hood,” spitting fiery bars like “I’m sick of b—-es tryna tell me how to live” straight to camera.

She then hopped onto one of her rhinestoned vehicles, drove to a massive scaffolding stage, and gave fans what they came for with a performance of “Savage (Remix).” Dressed in a feathered crop top and some patent leather boots, the star stormed the stage, even taking on Beyoncé’s added verse.Girls in the Hood

Earlier in the night, Stallion took home the award for best female rap artist, which she accepted with a special video from her backyard. “Hotties, I’m gonna just keep going for y’all,’ she said with a laugh. The star was also nominated in four of the remaining categories, including the night’s major honors like album and video of the year

Stallion wasn’t the only performer at the 2020 BET Awards — the rapper was joined with performances from stars like John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, and more.
