Meghan Trainor hosted her Billboard Live At-Home concert on Friday afternoon (April 10) to raise money for Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization that works to connect people with food and end hunger.
The songstress had us feeling like we were home with her, keeping it casual sitting crossed-legged on her kitchen counter with a ukulele. She performed stripped-back versions of her Mike Sabath collaboration “Wave” and, of course, “All About That Bass.”
Her husband, Daryl Sabara, took on the role of camera man, hyping her up and asking the pop star questions from the comments. When a fan asked if the actor would star in any of Trainor’s future music videos, she replied, “Some people have warned me about that, that it’s actually bad luck but I don’t believe in that. Hopefully, one day he can be in a music video.”
“My mom is really cute. Every time we right a song, she’s like, ‘Oh my God, Daryl can be, like, the guy,'” she continued.
Trainor also performed “one of my favorite songs ever,” Britney Spears’ 2000 track, “Lucky,” and flawlessly delivered a calming, ukulele twist on the pop tune with a hilarious interlude at the bridge.
