Metallica Announces 'Month of Giving' to Benefit COVID-19 Relief Efforts

Metallica is giving back!

For the past two years, the rock group has encouraged fans to give back to food banks for its “Day of Service” in May, their charitable organization All Within My Hands. This year, the help is needed more than ever due to the coronavirus pandemic, so Metallica announced on Tuesday (May 5) All Within My Hands’ May Month of Giving.

“Inspired by today’s #GivingTuesdayNow, a new global date of giving in response to the global need caused by COVID-19, we’re going to spotlight four organizations we’re supporting throughout this crisis,” drummer Lars Ulrich said, announcing the news. “Each week this month, we will share with you what these organizations do and show you how you can chip in to help. We’ll be contributing proceeds from special weekly featured merchandise in the Metallica store and continuing to donate funds raised during the #MetallicaMondays streaming concerts.”

This week, the band is spotlighting Feeding America, a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks.  Crew Nation, United States Bartenders Guild Foundation and Direct Relief will also be supported.
