Nas & Resorts World NYC Announce Joint 2 Million Dollar Donation Toward Hip Hop Museum Construction

Nas has been making all the culture moves recently. Most recently, his work with Mass Appeal to honor hip hop legends via the Legend Has It… campaign comes to mind. But now, the mogul has gone a step further with a generous gift to hip hop lovers.

Nas and Resorts World NYC have officially pledged 2 Million US Dollars as a joint initiative to fund the construction of the Hip Hop Museum. The museum is slated to be set up in the Bronx, and will consolidate and honor the work of hip hop artists.

The announcement came in as part of the 2 billion dollars in community benefits promised by RWNYC in line with its supplemental bid submission (in the quest to build the largest integrated resort in the US). Speaking on the momentous occasion, Nas expressed his feelings in the official RWNYC announcement/ coverage.

“Building this Hip Hop Museum is something our culture has needed for a long time,” he said. “It’s powerful to see a space being created to preserve that history and to educate and inspire the next generation. Being able to contribute alongside Resorts World to help bring this vision to life is an honor. This museum stands as a reminder of where we came from, and a celebration of everything Hip Hop continues to be.”

Move by move, Nas is truly cementing his legacy as one of the finest business minds and guardians of hip hop culture globally. What do you think?
