Nashville Tornado: Celebs React & Send Prayers

The Nashville community is mourning following the aftermath of two tornados that swept through Tennessee early Tuesday morning (March 3). At least nine people have been confirmed dead by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, while the devastation includes countless businesses, concert venues and homes.

Several country artists shared their prayers following the tornados and offered hope to the Nashville community. In a heartfelt message posted on Twitter, Dierks Bentley admitted his plane landed in Music City shortly before the storm hit. “No one comes together as a city like Nashville does.” Carrie Underwood, meanwhile, made an appearance on Today just hours after the tornadoes hit while her husband, Mike Fisher, was at home with their two sons.

“He said he had to go upstairs at 2 a.m. and grab the boys to take them down to — we have a little safe room in our house,” she says. “I bet everyone was crying.”

“My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the Nashville area affected by the tornado last night,” Reba McEntire says. “Even if the tornado didn’t hit our personal space, we are all affected because we are Nashvillians. My heart…”

Below are artist reaction and prayers for the Nashville community following the devastation Tuesday morning.
