Nicki Minaj Gets Candid About All Things ‘Megatron’ & Her Fiance in Twitter Q&A

Nicki Minaj launched a back-and-forth on Twitter about her latest single, "Megatron," on Sunday (June 23). While many fans had questions about the track itself, her leading man — both in the single's video and in life — was a big topic of conversation.

The rapper was all too happy to address their curiosity, and answered a few inquiries about her fiance Kenneth Petty, who makes an appearance in the "Megatron" visual, in between questions about the song.

In addition to revealing the inspiration for the song's title ("Megatron" was the first word that came out when her freestyle began), what the definition of "Megatron" is for her ("THE BADDEST!!!!!!!!!") and when production for the "Megatron" video took place (she filmed it before hitting the road on tour), Minaj shared that Petty's cameo in her video came after she woke him up from a nap and immediately put him in front of the camera.

She also explained why her "soulmate" doesn't call her Nicki, but Onika, her given name — and why that's a good thing.

"He has called me onika since I was 15 so it’s hard to change that," she tweeted. "that was the problem, others r infatuated w/Nicki Minaj he DGAF about this industry & is very protective." She added that his "guard goes up" when she's around her Barbz, but that he seems "rlly moved" by the special bond she shares with her fans.

Minaj recently confirmed that she and Petty have received their marriage license on her latest Queen Radio dispatch on Friday (June 21), though no further wedding plans have been revealed.
