Nicki Minaj Reveals She Tested Positive for COVID-19

Nicki Minaj won’t be attending the Met Gala because she recently contracted COVID-19.

Taking to Twitter on Monday (Sept. 13), she revealed that she tested positive for the coronavirus while rehearsing for the MTV Video Music Awards.

“I was prepping for vmas then i shot a video & guess who got COVID?” she tweeted. “Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama? ‘get vaccinated’ Drake had just told me he got covid w|THE VACCINE tho so chile.”

When a fan told her that “non vaccinated people are 11x more likely to pass away from covid than vaccinated,” Nicki said she was unvaccinated. “That’s not true. I had the exact same symptoms as ppl with the damn vaccine,” she added.

She also revealed that she won’t be attending the Met Gala because of the vaccine requirement.

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met,” she continued. “if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.”

Nicki claims that that her cousin in Trinidad got the vaccine and became impotent.

“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent,” she wrote. “His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”

Nicki was scheduled to perform at Sunday’s VMAs, but had to pull out at the last minute because she tested positive.

She recommends others get the vaccine if their job requires it and said she eventually plans to get vaccinated so she can tour.
