Nike Adds Hits of Chrome to the Air Max 97

Coming in hot off the celebration of its 25th anniversary, Nike is carrying over the Air Max 97’s momentum with additional looks. Previously this year, the return of the “Gold Bullet” and introduction of an “Oxidized” colorway were revealed. Now, the Swoosh has dipped some of the intricate sneaker’s details in chrome with its latest presentation of the Japanese bullet train-inspired shoe.

Diving into this “Chrome” colorway, its layered upper begins with a black mudguard that reveals its patterned black and gray reflective base with a chrome Swoosh atop it. Above this, its signature slick linework starts with an all-chrome stripe and continues by toggling between dark gray and its reflective base. The shine also touches down on the silver laces and chrome tongue tag while a visible Air unit at the sole is backed by a black and blue rubber outsole to complete this glistening pair.

Having just been revealed, no release information for the Nike Air Max 97 “Chrome” has surfaced just yet. Stay tuned for a launch date as we expect the shoe to land on shelves sometime this spring via Nike and select retailers.
