Dolly Parton is in the market for greeting cards. The country legend has teamed up with American Greetings to create a line of digital and physical products that incorporate her timeless music and unique personality.
In the coming months, American Greetings will roll out a new line of greeting cards that include the singer’s famous “Dolly-isms.” The first announced product comes just ahead of Parton’s birthday on Jan. 19 and, fittingly, is a birthday audio & video “SmashUp” e-card, that is inspired by Parton’s song “9 to 5.”
“I am so thrilled to begin this relationship with the folks at American Greetings,” Parton says in a statement. “When presented with this opportunity I knew it was perfect for me. I love connecting with people in unique ways and being able to integrate products that take inspiration from my music and the life lessons I have learned through the years makes this extra special.
“I know first-hand how a few words in a card can change someone’s day for the better. I am looking forward to working with the creative group at American Greetings to develop cards that do just that!”
The news of greeting cards comes shortly after Parton revealed she has thousands of unrecorded original songs that she hopes will live on after her death. Last year also marked a busy year for Parton, as her Netflix series Heartstrings also launched.
