Leave Lizzo alone.
After his wife Cardi B came to her defense, Offset is also sharing his support for Lizzo amid the abuse she received from online trolls following the release of “Rumors.â€
“Let these beautiful Black women, let these women be great,†the Migos rapper told TMZ. “Stop judging and giving out negative energy.â€
Offset said that people should show more compassion toward entertainers. “We work to be entertainers for the world. Let us be,†added Offset.
Over the weekend, Lizzo broke down in tears while discussing the hateful comments she received on social media. “I just feel like I’m seeing negativity directed towards me in the most weirdest way,†she said on Instagram Live. “People saying sh*t about me that just doesn’t even make sense.â€
“It’s fat-phobic, and it’s racist, and it’s hurtful,†she added. “If you don’t like my music, cool. If you don’t like ‘Rumors’ the song, cool.â€
Her “Rumors†collaborator Cardi B rushed to her defense. “When you stand up for yourself they claim your problematic & sensitive. When you don’t they tear you apart until you crying like this,†she tweeted. “Whether you skinny, big, plastic, they going to always try to put their insecurities on you. Remember these are nerds looking at the popular table.â€

She also received support from Missy Elliott, who sent flowers to Lizzo with a note that read: “Continue to shine and be blessed through your next journey.â€
Facebook has stepped in, deleting the racist and fat-shaming comments left on Lizzo’s Facebook and Instagram posts. They have also removed accounts of users who continue to violate community guidelines around hate speech, harassment, and bullying.
