Ozuna is the latest artist to take his concert to a virtual platform, kicking off the Latinos Unidos Live streaming festival tomorrow (May 16) on YouTube.
With the shelter in place order still in full effect in most Latin American countries, people are encouraged to stay indoors with no timetable of when social events, concerts or festivals will resume. In the past few weeks while in confinement, nearly all artists have found new avenues and virtual outlets to connect with fans, offering livestream concerts free or to raise money for COVID-19-related relief.
Latinos Unidos Live is the latter with multiple Latin beer brands like Victoria, Corona and Aguila coming together to raise money for specific non-profit organizations in countries like Colombia and Guatemala that are helping the most vulnerable communities impacted by COVID-19.
Latinos Unidos Live will kick off May 16 with Ozuna’s concert that will live on his YouTube channel and will go on until May 30 with multiple other Latin artists to be announced to perform.
“¡Mi gente! Your favorite Latin beers and I invite you to join us during the #LatinosUnidos live so we can dance, sing and help our Latin brothers and sisters that need our help,” Ozuna said.
For now, the only other artist confirmed to perform is Brazilian superstar Anitta and others will be announced during tomorrow’s livestream.
According to a press release, money raised during the live stream will benefit organizations like Fundación Solidaridad por Colombia to buy ventilators that will distributed to the Health Department in Chocó, located in Colombia’s Pacific Coast region. In Guatemala, funds will be directed to “El Amor en Caja” which has been supporting families with food and hygiene products during the global health crisis.
