At 25 years old, Pabllo Vittar (real name: Phabullo Rodrigues da Silva) has become a household name in her home country of Brazil. The fierce, unapologetic, and empowering singer and drag superstar has gained international success from her collaborations with artists such as Diplo, Lali, Charli XCX, and Thalia, among others.
For Vittar, being a Latina artist in the LGBTQ community is very important.
“I am a voice for all the LGBTQ community not only in my country Brazil, where we face difficult times but for all of Latin America and the world,” she tells Billboard. “I’ve been to so many countries and I realized that it’s not only in Brazil that we need this voice, but everywhere, and I’m very happy to be one of these voices.”
As Pride Month wraps up this week, Vittar also shared her five go-to songs that can’t be left out of her Pride playlist. Check them out below.
“Baby One More Time” – Britney Spears
”My first song is ‘Baby One More Time’ because this song kills me — it has ever since I was a little girl. I love the choreography, and Britney, a lot.
“Playa Grande” – Sofi Tukker & Bomba Estereo
”I like this song a lot because it’s very hot, very Latin. I was with Sofi Tukker and Bomba Estereo at Coachella and it was amazing.”
“Garupa” – Luisa Sonza, Pabllo Vittar
”This is a very hot Brazilian song by Brazilian singer — and my good friend — Luisa Sonza, who’s with me at all times. Everyone should listen to ‘Garupa!’”
“Kill This Love” – Blackpink
“I love these girls and I’m a fan of K-pop. Baby, let’s kill the love this Pride Month, let’s kill all the love.”
“Buzina” – Pabllo Vittar
“It’s my song. I open my tour with this song during Pride month. It’s amazing!”
