Following a collaboration with 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi, Salomon now taps Danish cycling brand Pas Normal Studios for a collaboration that explores the intersection of city and nature.

Drop 1 of the series includes a hydration bag recontextualized for cycling from Salomon’s Active Skin 8 and a special take on the high-top XA Alpine 2 Advanced shoe. Arriving in “Black Coffee” and “Delicioso” colorways, the new Pas Normal Studios bag is constructed with soft, breathable fabrics. Fitting snugly onto the body like a vest, the bag is designed with compartments allowing for wearers to easily grab whatever is needed while on the go. Defining features include two front stretch pockets fitted with 500ml flasks, a sternum strap adjustment system, and an extended filtered straw that has been tweaked to accommodate on-bike positions.

The XA ALPINE 2 for Pas Normal Studios comes in a similar lightweight construction that’s been built to withstand wet and cold outdoor environments. Uppers utilize an offset zipper opening and a clip-lock gaiter wraps around the ankles for extra protection against the elements. A carbon chassis is used for the midsoles and Contragrip outsoles provide extra traction for mountainous terrains. Colorways available include “Peat,” “Major Brown,” and “Gull.”

“We see the XA Alpine 2 Advanced shoe and Active Skin 8 bag as the perfect hybrid items, combining our lives on and off the bike. Between city and nature, commuting, urban exploring and recovery after training and racing. We want to merge the advanced functionality of Salomon with our subtle and minimalistic approach to design,” says Karl-Oskar Olsen, Creative Director and Co-founder of Pas Normal Studios.

Look for the collaboration to release online on February 2 via the Salomon and Pas Normal Studios online shops, flagship stores, and select retail partners. Prices range from €180 to €270 EUR (approximately $196 to $293 USD). A pre-launch event will be held at Pas Normal Studios’ Copenhagen flagship store on February 1 during Copenhagen Fashion Week.
