With Hurricane Dorian moving west toward Florida, Pitbull has canceled his Sunday night (Sept. 1) appearance at the L.A. County Fair in Pomona, Calif. A statement posted on the L.A. County Fair's website says Pitbull could not safely depart from Miami, where he resides, and will stay in Florida to care for his family.
"We’re sorry to disappoint fans, but are excited to hit the stage on the new rescheduled date," Pitbull wrote on Twitter.
Pitbull's concert has been rescheduled for Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Ticketholders will be allowed to use their tickets to visit the fair on Sept. 1 as well on the date of the new show. Those who cannot attend can receive a refund through Ticketmaster or the L.A. County Fair box office.
As of Sunday, Dorian is a category 5 hurricane that has hit the Bahamas with sustained winds reaching 185 miles per hour and gusts of up to 220 miles per hour.
Hurricane warnings and watches have been posted for parts of Florida.
While Dorian's exact path is uncertain, and forecasts predict it might turn north, the storm "will move dangerously close to the Florida east coast late Monday through Tuesday night," according to a 5 p.m. ET advisory issued by the National Hurricane Center.
