Leave it to Mr. Worldwide to offer up some words of encouragement — and a taste of brand new music — in a moment when many are scared and uncertain about what tomorrow brings.
On Saturday (March 28), Pitbull shared a video that offered a sneak preview of his upcoming anthem “I Believe We Will Win.” In the clip, he climbs up onto the roof of SLAM!, a Miami charter school, to offer a few words of advice and a motivational slogan or two.
“If there’s any time to check in for the world, it’s right now,” he says. “Now is when we take fear, and — it’s not Forget Everything And Run. It’s Face Everything And Rise.” He proceeded to shout out Miami, and said that his hometown is his inspiration in this particular moment: “Miami taught me how to fight, and I want to give that to everybody in the world right now. Now is when we gotta stick together. We gotta fight hard, show how powerful it is when we come together.”
As a driving beat and electric guitar come roaring in, he reveals that the background music is more than his soundtrack for this moment: it’s the rallying cry of his “world anthem” coming called “I Believe We Will Win.” (Billboard has reached out to Pitbull’s representatives for additional information.)
