Oozing with a golden age production sound, Pitch 92 is back with brand new single ‘Suttin’ In The Trunk’ featuring London’s affluential Lord Apex, via High Focus Records. This super heavy track is reminiscent of the boom bap style of Madlib or J Dilla, which is exactly the type of music that Pitch 92 listened to whilst growing up in Germany and Switzerland. This rising producer previously produced for British Hip Hop group The Mouse Outfit for the past decade but, as he now moves solo, his albums feature national and international artists that merge well with his timeless style.
This track embodies that classic sound, with visuals that accompany its hazy vintage look. As we catch Lord Apex sitting in the back of a car smoking a spliff carefree, he lyrically steps his game up, producing bars that match the vibe and atmosphere. Apex is someone who expresses a laidback persona really well, and it’s clear that as well as exceeding in Lo-fi beat production, he can venture in and adapt to any source of creative outlet that comes his way.
