President Barack Obama Shares His Summer 2021 Playlist

President Obama is back with more summer bops.

As people venture back outside, the 44th President of the United States has shared his annual Spotify playlist featuring his favorite summer music picks that serve as the soundtrack for your next beach trip, car ride, or backyard barbecue.

The 38 tracks include some of today’s biggest hits like Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open,” Masked Wolf’s “Astronaut in the Ocean,” and SZA’s “Good Days,” along with timeless classics like Stevie Wonder’s “If You Really Love Me” and Smokey Robinson & The Miracles’ “The Tears of a Clown.”

Obama remains in tune with the culture with songs like Drake and Lil Baby’s “Wants and Needs,” J. Cole’s “Neighbors,” and even Migos’ “Straightenin,” which prompted a tweet from Offset’s wife Cardi B.

Barack also reaches back in his bag with throwback tunes from Rihanna (“Desperado”), JAY-Z (“Allure”), and Erykah Badu (“Didn’t Cha Know?”), plus R&B jams from Jazmine Sullivan (“Pick Up Your Feelings”), Sabrina Claudio (“Frozen”), and H.E.R. (“Find a Way” featuring Lil Baby).

“With so many folks getting together with family and friends, there’s a lot to celebrate this summer,” tweeted the former POTUS. “Here’s a playlist of songs I’ve been listening to lately–it’s a mix of old and new, household names, and emerging artists, and a whole lot in between.”
