Prince Royce's LA Show Still Happening Tonight, Despite Coronavirus

Just hours before his show at The Forum in Los Angeles on Thursday night (March 12), Prince Royce took to social media to inform his fans that the show is “absolutely” happening despite the coronavirus pandemic.

“What’s up guys! As we all know there are many postponements and cancellations going on but as of now my show tonight at the L.A. Forum IS absolutely happening,” he wrote in a post.

“Keeping it real with you, there are many decisions that are not in my hands. As much as I would like to make every single one of you happy that may not be a possibility this time (I have been reading your messages).”

The post continued, “I am here for the fans and that I will put on the best show tonight in front of those who will be there – whether it be 8, 800 or 8,000 of you. Let’s all please take the necessary precautions and have fun tonight. I really appreciate the support you have always given me.”

Earlier, California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for the cancellation of gatherings of 250 or more people through the end of March.

Multiple Latin artists including Banda MS, Aventura and Jorge Drexler have canceled tours worldwide due to the coronavirus pandemic with cases reported in 118 countries, according to the World Health Organization.

Billboard reached out to The Forum for further comment but did not hear back at press time.
