Dimelo Flow, the Panamanian producer behind some of the hottest urban hits including Sech’s “Otro Trago,” Dalex’s “Pa Mi” and Anitta’s “Downtown,” has signed a deal with Interscope Records, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
Signed to Interscope Geffen A&M under a joint venture with Rich Music, Flow will drop his first single as artist-producer titled “El Favor” on Friday in collaboration with Nicky Jam, Farruko, Sech, Zion and Lunay. “El Favor,” according to Flow, is an R&B-meets-perreo track about a guy who’s willing to help his lady friend get over her boyfriend.
The single, which is part of his forthcoming album, Members Only, marks his first release under Interscope Records, Rich Music and Ingrooves. Flow tells Billboard he was drawn to the partnerships by Nir Seroussi, who earlier this year was appointed to executive vp at Interscope Geffen A&M, with a focus on developing Latin talent. This will be the first album released under his tenure.
“When I decided to do the album, my management told me that there was a lot of opportunities to do this,” says Flow, who is managed by Rich and Josh Mendes. “Nir is a great guy. I really like his vibe so we went ahead and did the album with him, which I’m really happy about.”
“Our team has had a long relationship with Rich and throughout the years we’ve been seeing Rich and the clan grow and now that this project came about, we felt it would be a perfect fit for both of us to join forces,” adds Seroussi. “Flow is one of the hottest producers in the market with the ambition of also crossing over as an artist. Again, both camps have known each other for quite some time now and it’s just a natural fit.”
As part of the deal, Seroussi assures that “a string of hits” is on the way, positioning Flow in the forefront as an artist-producer. “You can be a singer but you can also be a multifaceted creative individual behind hits,” he says.
Flow is represented by United Talent Agency globally in all areas.
