Page Six reports that a judge has denied R. Kelly bond for a third time in a row after he made pleads to be released out of fear of contracting coronavirus. In the latest motion his lawyers filed on his behalf argued that he’s prediabetic and can very well be at risk if exposed to COVID-19. However, that wasn’t a compelling enough argument for the judge.
“I do not agree that a diagnosis of prediabetes presents a compelling reason for the defendant’s release,” Judge Ann Donnelly wrote. “While the CDC has identified diabetes as a risk factor for COVID-19, the same is not true for prediabetes, a condition that affects nearly one in three American adults.”
This marks the third time a judge has denied R. Kelly to be released from prison in wake of the pandemic. We’ll keep you posted on any updates.
