Rae Sremmurd are attempting to stake out a spot in Hip Hop history as one the few artists to ever release a triple album. Swae Lee announced the duo’s highly anticipated SremmLife 3 will be a triple LP, confirming a comment made to Pitchfork by Mike Will Made It at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
“SremmLife three is a Triple disk one side RaeSremmurd , one side Slim Jxmmi , and one side Swae Lee wanted to put a twist on this album,” Lee wrote on Monday (January 29).
Both members Rae Sremmurd have been talking about solo projects for a few years now, but their respective debuts will now be tied to the duo’s third studio album. According to Mike Will, the solo discs include the much-discussed Swaecation andSlim Jxmmi’sJxmtroduction.
Lee and Jxmmi’s plan is reminiscent Outkast’s diamond-sellingSpeakerboxxx/The Love Below.The 2003 double LP was comprised two solo albums from Andre 3000 and Big Boi, respectively.
