Reik's Bibi Marin Billboard Live Q&A: Watch

Just days before their online concert for stay-at home fans on Thursday, Reik‘s Bibi Marin chatted with Billboard‘s Griselda Flores for a Billboard Live Q&A.

Bibi, who is isolating indoors in beach town Playa del Carmen in Mexico with his wife and two kids, talked about life in quarantine with his family, how Reik has been impacted by this coronavirus pandemic and what he’s learned about himself while isolating.

“Luckily nothing was canceled but postponed. All of our April and May is on hold and we have some shows in June, which we don’t even know if those will change,” Reik’s guitarist and songwriter says. “Maybe the good thing is that people will be more connected to social which could be an advantage for us so we can promote our latest single. That’s been kind of interesting trying to adapt to the situation. But we continue work and we’re staying active hoping to release some new music.”

What he’s learned about himself so far is something he already knew but being in quarantine has confirmed: “I like to be isolated,” Bibi shares. “It’s weird but I feel perfectly fine being indoors. I’m the type of person that would be OK with living in a cabin on top of a mountain away from everything. And what we’re doing now is pretty much that.”

Reik’s YouTube concert is Thursday at 7 p.m. ET and will feature the trio composed of Bibi, Jesús and Julio singing old and new songs they recorded while being in different parts of the world where they’re self-isolating.
