Kendrick Lamar has fans anxious for new music, but the wait may soon be over.
The Compton rapper’s first music in nearly five years could arrive as early as next month, according to a new report.
Sources tell Billboard that Kendrick’s new single may drop on Feb 4. or Feb. 11 ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige on Feb. 13.
It’s been nearly five years since Kendrick released the multi-platinum DAMN. Back in August, he announced that he was working on his final TDE album.
“There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown,†he told fans. “See you soon enough.â€
He also hinted at his imminent return during his performance at the Day N Vegas festival in November. “Vegas, till next time. And when I say next time, very soon,†said K-Dot.
In anticipation of the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., the reclusive rapper reemerged in an epic trailer. It was also announced that he is producing a live-action comedy with the creators of “South Park.â€
In addition to Kendrick, Billboard reports that SZA’s long-awaited sophomore album is expected in the second quarter of the year.
