Rolex has unveiled a special Daytona in the name of celebrating the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
The newly iterated emblematic reference arrives in an 18-carat white gold build from case to bracelet. Gracing the reverse panda dial are contrasting sub-dials reminiscent of the iconic and vintage “Paul Newman†Daytona. A Cerachrom bezel encircles the reverse panda dial in tonal and glossy black, complete with a tachymeter scale. On the sale, the “100†mark is colored in a blazing red hue as a commemorative feature for the event’s 100th anniversary.
Similar to the updated Cosmograph Daytona that Rolex premiered during Watches & Wonders, this new reference is also outfitted with a transparent caseback. Evolving from the calibre 4131, this special-edition timepiece is powered by an equally exclusive movement fit for the Le Mans race — the new calibre 4132 nods to the event with a chronograph function that is now capable of measuring up to 24 hours.
This special Cosmograph Daytona has a price point of $51,400 USD. To inquire about its availability, or to read more about the timepiece, head over to Rolex’s official website.
