Sean "Diddy" Combs Remembers Andre Harrell in Heartfelt Tribute

Sean “Diddy” Combs is mourning the loss of Uptown Records founder Andre Harrell.

Combs took to Instagram on Friday (May 15) to share an emotional tribute to the late music mogul, who died on May 9 at age 59.

“I MISS YOU. HE WAS SO KIND. SO BEAUTIFUL. SO PATIENT. SO BLACK. SO CARING. SO SHARING. SO WISE. THE LIFE OF THE PARTY. A MUSICAL GENIUS! MY HERO. !LOVE FOREVER,” Diddy captioned a photo of himself hugging Harrell.

Combs started his career as Harrell’s intern at Uptown, where he eventually landed a full time job as talent director, developing 1990s megastars like Mary J. Blige and Jodeci.

Harrell and Combs remained friends through the years, leading to Harrell accepting a position as vice chairman of REVOLT, the music television network and multi-platform brand started by Combs in 2013.

Combs shared another tribute to Harrell on Instagram earlier this week.

“I honestly still can’t believe it,” Combs wrote. “I’ve got to give myself the reality of this in doses. Because I can’t even handle this. I hope to God that you are all blessed to have someone in your life that loves you and believes in you like this man believed in me.… I’m going to miss him so much. I can’t even imagine life without Dre.”
