Seth Hirsch returned on Friday (March 13) to unleash his first single of 2020, “Bread Basket.” Hours later, the Cincinnati, Ohio, native premiered the frenetic visual for the track on Billboard.
Hirsch gets back to his Queen City roots after spending the last year in Los Angeles. The clip evolves in three parts, as he skates through the University of Cincinnati campus, rocks out with his friends in a wooden garage and shrinks himself to the point that he’s standing on wedges of bread.
“Bread in a basket is a metaphor for all the dreams or money or trust you gather up, then someone steals off with it,” he tells Billboard. “It’s a fun song, but the lyrics are about empty promises and jealous people throwing shade, which we’ve all experienced on our journey to success.”
The Lex Luger-co-signed rhymer is gearing up to drop his anticipated debut album later in 2020. For now, watch the “Bread Basket” video below.
