Almost a full decade after her first NPR Tiny Desk concert, Sharon Van Etten made her grand return to the tiny desk on Monday (Oct. 7) for a three-song set of songs from her latest album, Remind Me Tomorrow.
The singer, armed with a guitar and backed by a full band, started the show with a bluesy performance of "Comeback Kid." She then slowed it down with an emotive rendition of "You Shadow," belting lyrics like, "You ain't nothing, you never won."
After pausing to thank the room and shout out her band members, who she says she would be "nothing without," Van Etten moved on to an intense performance of "Seventeen." Wailing her way through the final lyrics, the folk-pop singer was met with a deserving round of applause.
