Fresh EP and video from an artist we’ve supported for a little while now on UKHH. The Coventry artist Skatta just released a new seven track project, centred around themes many of us can resonate with in 2020! Led by the video which also works as the EP’s title track, Hardships EP features vocal input from Clipson, LDizz, OneDa, Kriptik, Tarju Le’Sano, and Mac James. Production comes courtesy of transatlantic range of producers OH91, J-Fresh, Trap Jesus, DJ KDubz, Juberlee, Lawless and Swat Team Beats
The lead single ‘Hardships’ taps into both financial and social justice hardships, and work as a brilliant introduction to why you need to hear the full EP! While he doesn’t just cover these important issues in the project, Skatta has shown his growth as an artist. From the selection of beats he spits on, the collaborations he brings on the EP and the subject matter he talks about throughout the project, the 7 tracks are impressive and provide a refreshing range of subject matter.
Check out the lead video, filmed at the Black Lives Matter protest in Skatta’s hometown…
‘Hardships’ was created in lock down, so the energy and themes covered are glaringly ‘of the moment’, speaking to the people of this country about the ups and downs in life today.
