Following collaborations with Bobby Raps, Fred again.., Flowdan, PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd, famed DJ and producer Skrillex has released his first music video of the year. Reuniting with Drain Gang multi-hyphenate Bladee, the two connect on the long-awaited “Real Spring.” Previously, the duo appeared as features on Yung Lean’s mixtape Stardust, bringing blissful notes to the track SummerTime Blood.

Part of Skrillex’s upcoming album — his first in nine years since Recess – the track sees Bladee glide over atmospheric production from Skrillex. Lyrically, various references from Bladee connect him to previous works, including a mention of his group’s previous name of SG (Shield Gang). In addition, the song’s name itself is pulled from his first solo art exhibition — Real Sprin9 — that was on display at the Residence Gallery in 2021. As for the video itself, the two are seen in cuts that include a forested scenery as well as footage from their time together in Japan. Having performed the track together in October of last year, clips of the two energizing a packed crowd in Shibuya also appear.

Check out the track and its accompanying music video above and stay tuned for more news regarding the release of Skrillex’s upcoming album.

In other music news, slowthai has announced his third studio album – UGLY – alongside the release of his new single “Selfish.”
