Smokey Robinson, Rita Wilson, Bastille & More Stars Join City of Hope's Weekly Virtual Auction Series

City of Hope, one of the world’s best hospitals for cancer research and treatment, launched a weekly virtual auction series on Monday (Aug. 3) with Charitybuzz, which will bring in some A-list helpers.

There will be a curated showcase each week, featuring remarkable music-related memorabilia and once-in-a-lifetime experiences that cater to the timely theme. TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Smokey Robinson, Hunter Hayes, Rita Wilson, Jesse McCartney, Bastille, Oak Felder and more stars will participate in the Charitybuzz auction. All proceeds will benefit City of Hope’s research mission to cure and ultimately prevent cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.

“Cancer, type 1 diabetes and HIV don’t ever stop. City of Hope’s lifesaving mission is more vital now than ever before,” said Evan Lamberg, chair of City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry (MFEI) group’s executive committee. “Our MFEI’s amazing collection of auction memorabilia and experiences will allow fans to celebrate the joy of music while they, literally, contribute to save lives. Even as our world will need to continue to socially distance, we will not take a pause in trying to raise every dollar we can for people who are suffering from the diseases that City of Hope is looking to cure and eradicate.”

Charitybuzz will host the online auction series, which can be found here with new offers on the table from A-list stars appearing every Monday until Sept. 21. Three items are currently up for bidding until Aug. 18: an online mentoring session with Michele Abrams, CEO and founder of In Concert for Cancer; an autographed Fender “Redondo Player” acoustic guitar by Rita Wilson; and a virtual production master class with Oak Felder, a two-time Grammy-winning R&B and pop producer/writer who’s worked with Demi Lovato, Kehlani, John Legend and more.
