Birmingham’s most extravagant representative and spitter Sonnyjim has rekindled with producer Giallo Point for No Vi$ible Means Of Income Vol 2, the sequel to their 2020 masterpiece.
An insane work rate both on the mic and on the boards, Sonnyjim has now had a hand in three projects this year alone, this being the first where he can call the mic his. Giallo Point deploys the mob-esc soundscapes allowing Sonnyjim to do his thing, transcending us to an 80’s casino, or some dimly lit street shoot-out.
It’s more of the same, as you would expect from a sequel; rhyming couplets on his lavish lifestyle, but with a few recruits to mix up the delivery. YUNGMORPHEUS features on Spin, one of my favourites, with fellow across-the-ponders Remy Banks, Asun Eastwood and Rim also leaving their mark on the project.
Sonnyjim recently featured on Morriarchi’s Balamii show where he revealed having a MF DOOM feature ready for one of his next releases…
For now though, No Vi$ible Means Of Income Vol 2 is out on vinyl via Tuff Kong Records, limited edition and all that.
