Good news, ARMY! Not only is BTS working on a new album, Suga is also joining forces with IU to collaborate on her forthcoming comeback single.
EDAM Entertainment, IU’s label, confirmed the collaboration is in the works on Monday (April 27). “IU will be releasing a digital single on May 6, and she will also be releasing a music video along with her music,” a spokesperson for EDAM Entertainment said in a statement, Soompi. “As musicians of the same age, the two singers were able to relate to one another and use that as a foundation for exchanging opinions. They created their own unique synergy, which is reflected in their song.”
Produced by Suga, the track is titled “Eight” and will follow IU’s 2019 EP Love Poem. The K-pop star’s most recent full-length studio set, Palette, was released in April 2017. Suga, meanwhile, has been hard at work on BTS’ forthcoming follow-up to 2020’s Map of the Soul: 7, which he dished on during a painting livestream over the weekend.
“Eight” is slated for release May 6 EDAM Entertainment.
