After a fan took to Instagram to post about the news that a stolen car crashed into the gates of Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home, Swift took a moment to give a cheeky response to the ordeal.
“Nothing good starts in a getaway car," she commented under the Instagram post, referencing the lyrics to her Reputation track “Getaway Car.”
Although the Associated Press reported that the police chase started in a neighboring town and ended in the pop star’s home, on Tuesday (April 2), they also reported that no one was hurt.
It is unclear is Swift was home, and whether the occupant of the vehicle knew who owned it. After the car failed to make a curve near her home, it struck the wall outside of her property and ricocheted into the main entrance gate, according to police reports.
There were four occupants, one 19-year-old, two 18-year-olds and one 16-year-old, in the stolen the car — with the 19-year-old facing several charges including reckless driving and stolen goods, according to the Westerly Police. The other three have not been charged, but police say the investigation continues.
