Telemundo’s La Voz reality show has been temporarily paused due to the coronavirus pandemic, Telemundo network confirmed to Billboard.
The statement sent by Telemundo says, “out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety of our contestants, coaches, crew and employees, Telemundo has temporarily paused the production of La Voz.”
The second season of La Voz began in January and it’s about to culminate the battles phase which leads to live performances. Now, the production decided to postpone live shows until further notice as a precautionary measure.
La Voz is the Spanish version of the popular show The Voice and this second season once again featured the artists Luis Fonsi, Alejandra Guzmán, Carlos Vives and Wisin as coaches. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with Cisco Suárez, evp of Primetime Non-Scripted Programming at Telemundo, Stijn Bakkers and Tim van Rongen, executive producers for Talpa Media USA, and Macarena Moreno and Moira Noriega, executive producers for Telemundo. It is being produced by Telemundo, Talpa Media USA, Inc. and Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television.
“We will continue to monitor the situation to determine an appropriate date to finalize the competition and provide both contestants and viewers the finale they deserve,” the network concluded.
