The Black Keys ‘Go’ to No. 1 on Adult Alternative Songs

Four of the last five Black Keys singles on the tally have reached No. 1.

Four of The Black Keys’ last five charting singles on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart have now reached No. 1, as “Go” moves 2-1 on the list dated Aug. 3.

“Go” becomes the second song from ‘Let’s Rock,’ the Ohio duo’s ninth studio album, to reach the top spot of Adult Alternative Songs, following lead single “Lo/Hi,” which ruled the ranking for five weeks beginning in April.

“Fever” and “Gotta Get Away,” from 2014’s Turn Blue, also ruled the tally, with the No. 11-peaking “Weight of Love” he Black Keys’ only non-No. 1 in that span.

In all, the band now has five Adult Alternative Songs No. 1s, with “Lonely Boy,” in December 2011, the fifth. As such, the Black Keys are tied for the most Adult Alternative Songs leaders in the 2010s with Florence + the Machine, both at five.

“Go” sees a bullet on all Billboard rock airplay charts dated Aug. 3; it vaults 23-18 on Alternative Songs, holds at its No. 30 peak on Mainstream Rock Songs (but rises 26% in airplay) and jumps 20-14 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay, with 4.2 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen Music.

With “Go,” the Black Keys look to match the success of “Lo/Hi,” which became the first song ever to rule all four Billboard rock airplay charts simultaneously earlier this year.
