In anticipation for the summer release of Warner Bros. and DC Comics‘ The Flash, the studio has released the final trailer for the Ezra Miller-led film.
Miller is set to star as Barry Allen and as the final trailer shows some new character crossing paths with one another. Not only does the trailer tease a cameo from Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, but the trailer also gives a new look at Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West. The premise of the series sees Barry travel back in time to try to prevent his mother Nora’s murder. The consequence of his actions bring an unintended unraveling of the timeline. The film sees both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s iterations of Batman as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso playing currently-unknown roles.
The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti who recently discussed the film, “â€It’s basically time travel that includes the origin story, which is basically the mother and the father, and their accident. All of those elements were sort of attached to this thing. That’s why in my opinion, it was like you’re killing several birds with the same stone in a way. And of course time travel is always a good idea. Batman is always a good idea.â€
The Flash hits theaters on June 16.
