Most of us are working to stay in our cages at the moment, but The Killers‘ “Mr. Brightside” still offers a glimmer of light in the dark times.
The rock band shared a 30-second video of frontman Brandon Flowers washing his hands while singing the chorus of their Hot Fuss classic, showing that it’s a perfect soundtrack to getting your hands nice and clean amid concerns of coronavirus spreading.
The Killers posted the video on Sunday night (March 15) after sharing a doctored video of a neighborhood in Italy singing “Mr. Brightside” while quarantined, noting “This isn’t real.” Following up with the hand-washing video one minute later, the band captioned it, “But this is.”
Several stars have taken to social media to advise fans on how to help avoid the spread of COVID-19, with artists like Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift urging fans to take the virus seriously and make social sacrifices to help curb the spreading. “Please read about what’s going on,” Grande wrote on Sunday. “Please don’t turn a blind eye. It’s incredibly dangerous and selfish to take this situation that lightly.”
