The Notorious B.I.G.’s daughter is bringing a slice of New York to L.A.
T’yanna Wallace, daughter of the late Christopher Wallace, is opening up a new pizza restaurant called Juicy Pizza, inspired by her father’s 1994 hit song. She has partnered with Tyra Myricks, daughter of the late Jam Master Jay, to set up shop at 615 N. La Brea Ave.
According to Eater, the restaurant design pays homage to New York City with subway car details and bodega vibes. Juicy Pizza will open for business on Saturday, June 12, starting with dinner only. In addition to cheese and pepperoni pizza ($23 and $30 for a whole, or $4 to $5 per slice), the menu includes oxtail, beef and broccoli, jerk chicken, and chopped cheese eggrolls.
As a New Yorker living in Los Angeles, Myricks felt there was “no good pizza in Los Angeles” and wanted to bring New York City-style pizza to the West Coast. “The more I thought about how to bring that New York theme to Los Angeles, I felt, who represents New York more than Biggie Smalls?” Myricks told Business Insider.
So she reached out to Wallace, whose mother is Jan Jackson. “I was like I don’t want you to invest anything,” Myricks recalled telling Biggie’s daughter. “Let’s just make money together. Let’s make moves.”
This is the latest business venture for Wallace, who also runs a store in Brooklyn called Notoriouss that sells men’s and women’s clothing, some of which features her father.
