Tool are never rushed. The prog-metal masters finally dropped Fear Inoculum at midnight, their first album in thirteen years.
Spanning 10 tracks, Fear Inoculum’s epic title track is now recognized as the longest song to crack the Billboard Hot 100, running to 10 minutes and 21 seconds (David Bowie's "Blackstar" seems positively brief at 9-minutes, 57-seconds).
Yep, Maynard James Keenan and Co. do things at their own pace.
The release of Fear Inoculum caps a flourish of activity for the band, whose four previous studio sets recently became available on streaming services for the first time. In a record-breaking effort, the band nabbed four of the top five positions on the Top Rock Albums chart.
Their last studio album, 2006's 10,000 Days peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as did its predecessor, Lateralus from 2001.
