Los Angeles, CA – Trey Songz jumped on Twitter shortly before his arrest on Monday (March 19) to deny allegations domestic violence.
Songz who is accused hitting a woman at a party that took place over the NBA All-Star weekend last month says the allegations are purely for the personal gain his accuser, a woman named Andrea Buera.
The Virginia singer-songwriter surrendered to police a short while after posting his tweets early Monday morning.
Songz born Tremaine Neverson was released from custody a few hours later after posting a $50,000 bond, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Departments Inmate Information Center.
The 33-year-old is next due in court on April 9.
During a press conference earlier this month, Buera recalled what she believes happened on February 17.
I was attending an afterparty when Trey began yelling at me, choking me, punching me, and ultimately he knocked me to the ground, she said. While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and he did not stop until his security guard pulled him f me.
Trey, Id like an apology, Buera added. I want you to get help, and although I am not your first victim … Id like to be your last.
